Stop Speaking About You And Truly Focus On Your Customers. You’re On The Wrong Side Of The Story.
My Purpose | Our Purpose
My Vision | Our Vision
My Mission | Our Mission
My Values | Our Values
About Me | About Us
My Work | Our Work
My Projects | Our Projects
My Goals | Our Goals
Me, Me, Me, Me….
Of course we hear and are supposed(?) to know our purpose and everything else about us and our brands. Knowing why we do what we do definitely helps us move forward. It brings clarity to help the ones we can serve to create a greater impact, our dent in the world.
But that’s it! It’s just the foundation to KNOW who and how we can help. Get me wrong if you want, but here comes something harsh: Nobody cares about you. It’s all about them and how YOU can help them. And it’s totally alright.
Aren’t you tired of seeing the same, old, boring, cookie-cut verse over and over?
The Wrong Side Of The Story
This is how I can do this, what I can do, how I see the world, what I can teach…
Doesn’t it feel like it’s trying to demonstrate something, instead of focusing on how to help?
The pattern that keeps repeating is one: It’s all about Me — not about the ones to be helped.
I know (at least I hope) you really want to help others and make them shine and thrive; however, the way we tell our stories is focused on the wrong thing… or, to be clearer, the wrong person: Me/Us.
Finding our purpose, our vision, our mission and everything in between is fundamental to have a clear direction. The focus, though, needs to turn towards on who we are trying to help — and the only way to do that is by talking to them and, well… focusing on them.
Here’s a 7-step framework to work on this: The Flip.
